Frequently Asked Questions

1

How many sessions will I need?

There is no fixed number of sessions, as this depends on your individual circumstances, the difficulties you would like to address and your goals for therapy. This typically ranges from 6 to 20 sessions.

We'll regularly review your progress together and discuss when it feels appropriate to end therapy. You are also welcome to stop therapy at any time.

2

Do you offer online therapy?

Yes. I offer therapy online via secure video call or telephone, as well as face-to-face appointments in Guildford, Godalming and Farnham.

3

Where are you based?

I offer face-to-face therapy in Guildford, Godalming and Farnham, as well as online appointments for adults throughout the UK.

4

Can I switch between in-person and video or telephone appointments?

Yes. You can switch between face-to-face, video and telephone appointments as needed. If you need to change the format of an appointment, please let me know in advance.

If you attend remotely, you must be physically located in the UK for your appointment.

5

What is your cancellation policy?

If you cancel more than 48 hours before your appointment, you will not be charged and I will offer an alternative appointment time where possible.

Appointments cancelled with less than 48 hours' notice, or missed appointments, are normally charged at the full session fee. If a genuine emergency prevents you from attending, please let me know and I can consider reducing or waiving the fee.

I will provide full details of my cancellation policy in my therapy agreement sent to you prior to starting therapy.

6

What is a concession appointment?

I offer a limited number of concessionary appointments at £65 per session. These may be available if you are a student, receive state benefits or are experiencing financial circumstances that make the standard fee difficult to afford.

Please mention this during your initial consultation and we can discuss whether a concessionary appointment may be available.

7

Do you work with neurodivergent adults?

Yes. CBT is suitable neurodivergent adults, including people with ADHD and autism. You do not need to have a formal diagnosis to access therapy.

I take an individualised approach and aim to tailor therapy to your individual needs, communication style and circumstances. This may include adapting the pace, structure and way we work together to make therapy as accessible and useful as possible.

My role is not to try to change or “fix” neurodivergent traits. Instead, therapy focuses on the difficulties you would like support with, such as anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, stress, relationships, or adjusting to life changes.

8

I'm not sure whether CBT is right for me. What should I do?

If you're unsure whether CBT is suitable for what you're experiencing, you're welcome to book a free 15-minute initial consultation. We can briefly discuss what you're looking for support with and whether I may be able to help.

9

The consultation isn't a full assessment or therapy session.
